With the launch of FZ25, Yamaha Motor India has stepped into the single cylinder quarter liter bike segment in India. The bike was much awaited by the Yamaha fanboys across the country as the entry level roadster segment from Yamaha stadia was vacant since long. The Yamaha FZ-25 comes equipped with brand new 250cc oil cooled engine fueled by Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system. Let’s dive in to an overview of the FZ25.
Looks and Style: The looks of the Yamaha FZ25 is very stylish and balanced from every angle of the bike. The FZ25 seems to be grown ongoing FZ16. The sculpted fuel tank of the bike continues from the ongoing FZ series, the also comes with prominent air scoops featured on both sides of the bike. The scoops not only give aesthetics value to the FZ25 but also channelize air to the engine helping it to cool down efficiently.
The headlight is though small in size but it complements the overall bulky body of the Yamaha FZ-25. The tail light assembly also goes along with the modern styling of the bike; both headlight and tail light come equipped with LEDs for better energy conservation and efficiency. The bike comes featured with split seats, where both rider as well as pillion comfort seems to be taken care of well. The exhaust can however seems to be taken from the existing FZ16/S bikes and it is neatly designed in black color with silver trimmings.
Engine and Performance: Yamaha Motor India has introduced brand new 250cc oil cooled single cylinder SOHC engine to the FZ25. The engine is capable to churn out 20.7 Ps of power at 8000 Rpm and 20.4 Nm of torque at 6000 Rpm. The single pot Yamaha engine is nicely mated to a smooth 5-speed gear transmission. No fancy performance parts with the likes of Slipper Clutch and seamless shift gearbox have been included in the machinery. The fueling is been done through Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system for better fuel efficiency and consistent performance.
Brakes and Suspension: The Yamaha FZ25 comes equipped with front meaty telescopic shock absorber and adjustable rear mono shock absorber. The bikes also comes shod with front 100/80-17 M/C 52P Tubeless tyre and 140/70-17 M/C 66S Tubeless profile trye at rear. Yamaha has given the braking duty to front 282mm disc brake and 220mm rear disc brake. However, ABS is not given on the bike, not even as option but it is expected to be introduced no sooner than later.

The Yamaha FZ25 competes with the likes of KTM Duke 250/200, TVS RTR 200 4V and Benelli TNT 25. Yamaha has introduced the FZ25 in three color options- Knight Black, Ballistic Blue and Warrior White. The bike is priced at INR 1,19,500 (Ex-showroom Delhi) and it is claimed to return fuel efficiency of 43 Kmpl.
