Yamaha Fazer 25 is touted as sports tourer from the house of Japanese auto maker, the bike is essentially FZ-25 as it shares underpinnings with its naked sibling. Projected as entry level sports tourer by the company the Yamaha Fazer 25 is targeted towards young riders who are keen to take their bikes out for long hauls. The fully faired Fazer 25 is designed keeping its touring capabilities in mind. Let’s dive in to find out the details of the Yamaha Fazer 25-
Looks and Design: The design of the Yamaha Fazer 25 is subjective and not many would love the way it looks. The bike is primarily FZ-25 with retrofitted full fairing. Being a fully faired bike the looks of it is highly described by its fairing. The large fairing gives humongous look to the bike, the headlight fitted on the fairing is a direct lift from its naked sibling and it is featured with LED DRLs.
A larger wind screen along with upright single handlebar makes the bike apt for long journeys where windblast at the high speeds would be taken care of. The added faring makes the bike Six (6) kg heavier than the FZ-25 but the additional weight also aids to the high speed stability on highways.
Engine and Performance: The Yamaha Fazer 25 comes equipped with newly developed 249cc oil cooled single cylinder engine same as FZ-25. The oil cooled mill is mated to 5-Speed gear transmission, where an overdrive is badly missing in a so called touring machine. The new 249cc Yamaha motor is capable of churning out good 20.7 Ps of power at 8000 Rpm and 20.4 Nm of torque at 6000 Rpm.
The performance of the engine on the Fazer 25 which is a tad heavier than the FZ-25 due to added fairing is bound to drop a little but overall it is a nice machine to ride on. Fueling has been done via Electronic Fuel Injection System (EFI) for consistence performance and fuel efficiency.
Brakes, Chassis and Suspension: The Yamaha Fazer 25 is featured with same Diamond frame as FZ-25. The bike is suspended to beefy front 41mm telescopic shock absorber and adjustable rear mono shock absorber. The Fazer 25 comes devoid of ABS, which is a downside of the bike. The braking duty is been given to front 282mm 2 pot caliper disc brake and 220mm disc with single pot at rear.
The bike is featured with same full digital meter console as seen on the Yamaha FZ-25. The instrument cluster is also featured with Odometer, Speedometer, Trip meters, Instant Fuel economy and Average Fuel economy meter. The bike comes shod with 100/80-17 M/C 52P profile tubeless tyre at front and 140/70-17 M/C 66S profile tubeless tyre at rear.
