The all new Triumph Tiger 1200 featured the popular “High-torque” engine and double seat setup. On 11th May, Triumph unveiled the all-new Triumph Tiger Xcx 1200. The extra “x” and “c” means that this model is more adventure and tourer friendly. Let’s see what it has on offer.
Engine and Performance: The Engine is a 1215 cc liquid cooled fuel injected 12 Valve inline-3 motor. It produces 141 PS of power @ 9350 RPM and 122 NM of torque @ 7600 RPM. The whole thing is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The Clutch is hydraulic and the throttle uses Ride-by-wire. The three front headers are combined into one to save space and merge into a single arrow exhaust.
Chassis and brakes: Tubular steel Trellis Frame acts as the main underbone of Tiger. To make tyre change easier, Triumph has given a single sided swing arm and to make maintenance easier we have a shaft as the final drive. Next, we have a semi-active suspension at the rear, both for damping and pre-load, meaning new riders can feel relaxed while the suspension configures itself according to the road. At the front, we have an electronically adjustable suspension only for Damping. Wheels are 19 and 17 inches for front and rear. They are spoked wheels with aluminum rims, which allows the installation of tubeless tyres. Speaking of tyres, the bike uses Metzeler Tourance next, which are rated 4.5/5 by many exotic automotive media. For safety, we have twin channel ABS. It acts on two 305 mm disc with radially mounted 4-piston calipers at the front and a 282 mm disc with sliding caliper at the back. ABS is indeed switchable for a better off-road experience. There are six riding modes available namely Road, off-road, off-road pro, track, sport, and custom. The bike weighs in at 248 kg, which is 10 kg less than the previous model. The range of a full-fill up is expected to be quite good courtesy of a 20 L fuel tank.
Electrical and rider assist features: First off, the new version sports a fully adjustable TFT-display which displays every information about the bike including time and fuel to the current riding mode. The screen can be adjusted in position and display range. The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness for optimum resolution all the time. A new feature called Adaptive cornering lightning has been installed which turns the focus of the headlight in the direction of the turn. The switches are now back-lit making them easy to use during night time. Talking about rider assist features, we have Traction Control, riding modes and ABS. The custom riding modes allow you to play with every one of those rider aids. The bike also features Hill climb control, six-axis control, Cruise Control, heated seats and grips, optimized cornering ABS and traction control, 12-volt power outlets, USB socket, and Key-less ignition

The new Triumph Tiger 1200 is lighter, faster and smarter. It exists for a spectrum of riders, amateurs can utilize the various riding modes and rider aids.
