1: When it has a new engine
It makes sense to wait for a whole new engine, which the company is working on. A buyer who wants to buy a Pulsar 220 should wait for the Pulsar RS 200 to launch because it is an entirely new platform. If the same bike is just getting a new rehash paint job for the upcoming year, then there is no sense in waiting for it.
2: When your bike isn’t fully equipped
If your bike lacks important features like a rear disc brake, Fuel Injection, LED lights, or ABS. Then you should wait for the upcoming model because there is more possibility of an unequipped bike to receive more upgrades than a fully equipped one. For example, Bajaj Dominar 400 is not going to get any additional equipment as it’s already fully loaded, Bajaj Avenger 220, still has a long road to travel before it can be considered as fully equipped.
3: When the current model is facing issues
The best example of this one is the Yamaha R15 V3. The bike suffers from poor build quality. As surprising as it is for a Yamaha motorcycle, the new R15 has loose tank panels. So it’s the best to wait; if you want to buy an R15 V3. Because it is issues like these, which the company addresses in its yearly updates.
4: When there are government policies to be taken in effect
People who wanted an ABS equipped Royal Enfield should have waited for it and people who wanted a cheaper motorcycle shouldn’t have waited until September to buy it. Always be on the lookout for new government policies which affect motorcycles and make your decisions accordingly.
5: When you don’t have enough money
People usually settle for a cheaper model and then they regret not buying the top one, with that particular feature they always wanted. If you are looking for a powerful sports bike and settle for a Pulsar RS 200 in place of a Dominar 400, then you’re missing out on a machine which is much more value for money.
I know that some of these points collide with each other. Like, if you don’t want to buy a bike because it is facing some issues but the government is imposing a new law which makes buying motorcycles expensive, then you should wait for the new model. Because a faulty bike will always be an eyesore doesn’t matter how cheap you bought it for.
There you go my homies, guide yourself with this list and I will see you all next time.
