1: A Good Quality Wax: Sometimes it’s all about the looks. If you’re reading this article then there’s a good chance that you still remember how your bike looked when it was brand new showroom fresh. Even today the smooth finish of a new bike is something to drool over. So if you’re feeling bored then just go ahead give your bike a proper wash and apply some good quality polish wax over it. Your bike will start feeling lively all over again. Always remember to clean the surface thoroughly before you apply the wax; it’d be much better if you do it in a closed room away from dust. Use a microfiber cloth for a smooth finish. A good quality wax polish costs around Rs. 300. For an easy application, go for a liquid polish instead of a paste. I personally prefer WAXPOL liquid polish.
2: Handle Grips: Grips make a huge difference while riding a bike, as these are the only areas of bare contact between you and the motorcycle. A good grip should be easy to install, anti-corrosion, and with a non-slip texture. A pair of nice grips can help reduce the stress on your palm by decreasing the vibrations on the bike to a decent amount. Always check the measurement of your stock grip before you go out and buy new ones, but those labelled as “Generic” or “Universal” always come up a little short from the perfect fit.
3: Battery Charger: With the mandatory law of AHO catching up to speed in our country, it’s about time that we start including a battery charger in our list of motorcycle accessories. With the always headlight on, the battery is bound to drain faster than usual and replacing it again & again isn’t a very economical way to maintain your bike. Buy a battery charger so you can charge the battery from the comfort of your home and be less worried about your electric start giving up on you. Make sure the charger you’re buying can charge all the brands of battery like Amaron, EXIDE and so on. Buy a dual or multi-purpose battery charger so that you can also charge your car battery when needed. Do check all the necessary cables are already given in the battery charger.
4: Chain Lube And Chain Cleaner: This is literally a must have. Whenever you go on a trip or after weeks of riding do remember to clean your chain thoroughly. It really becomes easy when you have a chain cleaning kit with you. Such a kit contains a Chain cleaner, Chain lube and a cloth. Keep such a kit with you always when you’re going on a trip and try to lube your bike after 400 kilometres. Always buy this equipment in Kit because the chain cleaner works best when paired up with its own chain lube. For Pulsar 150 or Bajaj V15 owners I would suggest you replace your fully covered chain cover with an open one, not only it will look good but it would also make it easy for you to work on your chain.
5: Anti-theft And Alarm System: All the love and care that we are bestowing upon our bike would mean nothing if the bike gets stolen. It’s always better to be prepared for the worst, a good motorcycle lock alone can make it a little difficult for the thieves but an alarm can really knock them off their senses. It’s easy to steal a bike with just a lock because no one would pay any attention to it when the thieves work their black magic, but the same scenario with a screaming alarm is bound to attract people towards your bike. This can prevent theft and also vandalism on your bike. This Alarm system with an anti-theft system ensures two things for the thieves: failure in stealing the bike and mob justice.
Final Thoughts:
This is just a list of some of the accessories which can make our ride a smooth and hassle free experience. We all know that while riding the bike should not just run better but it should also look and feel better. Because sometimes we don’t need to rush to the showroom and buy a new bike instead we just need to realize that all of us need some love, even your faithful two-wheeled machines.
