The Pulsar AS150 is an adventure tourer semi-faired motorcycle from Bajaj and the prefix 'AS' stands for Adventure Sports, Bajaj launched two models yesterday the elder sibling AS200 is based on the same engine as of Pulsar 200NS with an added half fairing but the engine of Pulsar AS150 is totally new for the market, so let us know more about the Most powerful 150cc engine from Bajaj.
The Pulsar AS150 is powered by a 150 cc single-cylinder air-cooled 4-valve, twin spark DTS-i engine which is capable of producing a whooping power of 17 PS @9500 rpm and a torque of 13 Nm @7500 rpm. Now don't compare this bike with Yamaha R15 V2 and Honda CBR 150R because although the bike has 17 PS of power, they belong to totally different segments. The AS150 is a new segment created by Bajaj, it's the only 150cc bike which is focused towards adventure touring but only future will tell us how much successful the Pulsar AS150 will be. Some technical details of the bike are as follows -
Engine- Pulsar AS150 has a 149.5 cc engine which produces 17 PS of power with 13 Nm of torque with the help single-cylinder 4-valve engine, it also gets 5-speed manual gearbox.
Braking- On the braking department it gets 240 mm Disc at the front and 130 mm Drum at the rear (we feel rear disc brake should have been offered as optional).
Suspension- It gets telescopic suspension with anti friction bush at the front and Nitrox Monoshock absorber with Canister at the rear.
Tyres- Front Tyre is 80/100-17"46 P and the Rear Tyre is 110/80-17" 57 P but the good news is both the tyres are tubeless. Which will be a great advantage for touring.

The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1363 mm with a good ground clearance of 170mm, the kerb weight of the bike is 143kg and has a capacity to retain 12 litres of petrol. There are some features which is first for 150cc motorcycle like projector headlamps, underbelly exhaust and a class leading power.
The 150cc engine of Pulsar AS150 will also be seen on upcoming pulsar 150NS but only time will tell us how great and successful the engine will be.
