Taurus 2X2 is indeed a beast capable to run down almost anything that comes in its way. Russian engineering is never known for its finesse but “Rugged” is the word for every Russian machines, the Taurus 2X2 is also one of the best examples to testify the same.
A mean looking motorcycle with humongous 12 inch wide and 25 inch in diameter fat tyres, the Taurus is built around rigid yet flexible frame. There is no suspension given on the bike to support your spin but the big fat tyres that can be deflated a little to soak up the bumps. The two-wheel drive Taurus is equipped with 210cc engine which is mated to two speed gears. However, the company is ready to fit any engine of your choice in it, ranging from the recommended Honda GX210 engine to a Chainsaw motor you can opt for any size and specification of engine depending upon your need of performance. The Taurus with Honda 210cc engine weighs well under 100 kg, making it extremely light and versatile machine for virtually all sorts of terrains. One can only imagine the performance of Taurus after putting up lighter engine on it. There is a second chain drive given to the rigid front end of the bike making it a 2X2 machine.
There are utility racks given on both ends to do what this beast is meant to do, the Taurus could tow heavy loads pinching right at the tail of it as well as it can carry another Taurus on its front carrier. The big fat tyres are in fact very light in weight and since there is very limited air is required to inflate the tyres, one can even take the entire bike floating in the water body and can wash it out by giving throttle. The Taurus is fold-able machine, yes you read it right!! You can make it portable in just few minutes by pulling out few bolts. The front end comes out by just pulling out single bolt to which the entire front assembly is hinging. You can actually pack the entire bike and can take it into the boot of your car, isn’t it amazing??
The company has fixed the price of the Taurus 2X2 at around 75,000 Russian Rubles, which comes roughly US$1,100. If we translate in Indian currency it comes around Rs 72,000, which is absolutely bang for every buck. However, the company has not started shipping the bike internationally but they are not denying it either and says it is on the cards.
