Style & Design:
As the company has named the new entrant under the brand name “Saluto”, the bike has very close resemblance to the bigger 125cc Saluto. The new Saluto RX seems no nonsense bike by the sheer looks of it. Although, the bike looks a tad smaller than the rest of the completion in its segment but the chiseled fuel tank accompanied with the small yet stylish headlamp and delicate looking alloy wheels make it stand out in the crowd.
The 7.2 liter capacity fuel tank of new Yamaha Saluto RX is enwrapped with plastic resin covers on both the left and right side of the tank, it is because these covers a chiseled shape of the fuel tank came out very neatly which otherwise would have not been possible with steel.
Engine & Performance: Yamaha has developed a brand new 110cc 2-valve SOHC 4-stroke engine with its Blue core technology, the air cooled long stroke engine is characterized by its torquey nature and it produces healthy 8.5 Nm of torque at as early as 4500 Rpm. The 110cc mill of Saluto RX is mated to a 4 speed transmission gear, which is appropriate for a commuter bike meant for mainly city riding.
Yamaha has put the focus on the mass centralization and curtailment of extra weight; they have got the success in limiting the overall kerb weight of the motorbike with their ultra light diamond frame and lightweight aluminum 10 spokes alloy wheels. The engine of the Saluto RX has also played a vital role in shedding extra weight and together Yamaha has successfully maintained the kerb weight of bike at 98 Kg. With its lightweight and patented Yamaha Blue Core technology the new Saluto RX is claimed to return very impressive 82 Kmpl of fuel efficiency.
Features & Price: Being an entry level motorcycle, the Yamaha Saluto RX has very limited features on it, as we’ve mentioned earlier it is a no nonsense bike, meant for commuting from point A to point B. However, Yamaha has featured a long and comfortable seat for both rider and pillion, it is claimed by the company that they have used high density thick foam for comfortable ride. The Saluto RX is also featured with all analog meter console, it is devoid of any trip meter or tachometer. The plain and simple instrument cluster has large speedometer dial along with fuel gauge and tell tale lights. The salute RX is suspended on front telescopic forks and rear dual spring loaded adjustable shock absorbers. There is no provision for disc brakes and the stopping duty is given to 130mm drum brakes at both the wheels. Another cost cutting measure seen on the new Yamaha Saluto RX is the absence of tubeless tyres, company has shod low resistance tube tyres instead on the Saluto RX. Self starter option is given as standard feature on the bike and it is available in four vibrant color options- Breezy Blue, Matt Black, Gleaming Black and Inspiring Red. The new Yamaha Saluto RX is priced at Rs 46,400 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
