Looks and Styling
Bajaj has made a very basic looking commuter and tried to cut the cost wherever possible as it has offered with round headlamp, the rear has large seat with luggage carrier but the rear cowl is absent which is covered by the seat. The new CT100B will remind you of Bajaj boxer which Bajaj discontinued long ago. The fuel tank and most of its parts including engine are borrowed from the CT100 (new). Bajaj wants people to buy this motorcycle instead of going for second hand motorcycles. The motorcycle has spoke wheels instead of alloys (which is optional in Bajaj CT100). We can't expect too much about the looks at the price Bajaj CT100B is being offered.
Bajaj is offering the CT100 series to capture the base commuter segment, and got the taste of success too. The statement given by President– Motorcycles Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd. Eric Vas,shows how Bajaj has planned a nice strategy with its old product.
Bajaj CT100B carries the same engine which we have seen on CT100, the 99.27cc single cylinder , air-cooled engine produces a power of 8.2 PS @7,500 rpm and torque of 8.05 Nm @4,500 rpm. It is mated to 4 speed gearbox. The engine is bit tweaked in Bajaj CT100B to offer more mileage. It offers a great fuel efficiency of 99.1 kmpl as claimed by Bajaj whereas the standard CT100 offers 89.5 kmpl, the difference is almost 10kmpl . The decent power with great fuel efficiency and an attractive price tag is what Bajaj is offering to attract customers.
Price and Colours
Bajaj CT100B is priced at INR 30,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is almost INR 4000 lesser than spoke version of CT100. Bajaj CT100B will continue the same colour options of Bajaj CT100.
