TVS has silently launched the updated version of its 125cc premium executive class Phoenix. When TVS launched the Phoenix 125 back in 2012 it carried features which was seen on bigger bikes like fully digital console, 240mm roto-petal disc brakes, tubeless tyres and it had 125cc Eco- Thrust Engine, which is very capable and frugal engine but TVS decided to update the bike in 2015 so lets see what the bike has got?
TVS Phoenix 2015 is launched with new features as well as cosmetic upgrades, it has 125cc 4-stroke engine with Ecothrust technology (we have seen this technology in previous model of Phoenix as well) which helps to achieve fuel economy with smooth power delivery. There are no mechanical changes on the 2015 Phoenix 125, the motorcycle has the same 124.53cc engine single-cylinder which produces 11 PS @ 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm, it has 4-speed manual transmission. Specifications like it's telescopic front suspension system and Brakes, even the 12 liter fuel tank remains same as well.
Now coming to the features and styling, new Phoenix is loaded with lots of features like all digital meter console, tubeless tyres, gas charged rear shock-ups and Vehicle locator key, the new additions as compared to the previous model are gas charged shock-ups (which was much needed as Bajaj already offers it in their 125cc models) and Vehicle locator key (it helps the owner of the bike to locate his bike in a crowded parking lot).
In the styling department it has got new front fairing with dual tone visor, body-coloured grab rail, twin LED pilot lamps, it has got new restyled fuel tank with scoops and a 3D 'Phoenix' logo which makes it look good and aerodynamic than the previous version. TVS has also given new body graphics to the updated Phoenix which looks attractive.
So the updated Phoenix has got some new features and styling with no mechanical changes, we give the bike thumbs up for the styling and features. The bike is available in six new colour options – Black Magic, Crimson Black, Midnight Black, Cherry White, Red Hot,and White Night. TVS launched the updated Phoenix at INR 51,900 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the drum brake model and INR 55,899 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the disc brake model.
TVS always take their sweet time whenever they want to launch a new product. However, the new Apache RTR 160 4v was launched much earlier than expected. The Supreme court’s mandatory ABS rule is obviously to be given credit here.
Recently TVS sold 1 Lakh Apache RTR 160 4v and all of this was achieved in just a span of 6 months. With such a huge accomplishment, one must wonder, what is exactly the reason behind it. If we look closely, then there are a lot of them.
I love the TVS Apache RTR 200, especially its race spec, 2.0 model. The bike is smooth, grunty and lightweight for all intents and purposes. The highway stability of the bike is also really good, thanks to the 37 mm forks. The top speed of this bike is around 130 km/h on a good day but a guy has managed to take it beyond 150 km/h in his top speed test. You can see the video-
The impact of the new 4-Valve counterbalanced engine is easily visible. According to many reviewers, the bike vibrates. I, however, find this statement to be untrue. There is a clear distinction between a slight buzz and the so-called “Vibrations”, a term which people use to describe almost every single cylinder bike.
It is the battle of the century. The fight which will make or break empires. These are the two Titans which will carry their kings to the true heights of glory. I mean kidding aside, it’s these type of motorcycles which actually bring in the sales for the company. The whole cycle of R&D depends upon these bikes, more on that some other time. Today let’s compare the TVS Radeon and Hero Splendor. But since performance isn’t the forte of these motorcycles, we will compare them on the basis of "For they will be bought". Let’s begin.
It was way back in 2008 when the Glamour was first launched under the "Hero Honda" branding. Few years down the line, the all new 2017 Hero Glamour 125 was showcased and launched in Argentina on January 13th 2017, making it the very first model from Hero Motocorp to have an International launch. Let's discuss about the new indigenous bike from Hero on various aspects.
The Indian manufacturer is now focusing on replacing the Honda technology with their own indigenously developed engines. Following the ongoing foray Hero Motocorp has recently introduced the updated Achiever 150, let's see what all the bike has got to offer as a premium commuter.
Even though the consumers in the Indian market have started upgrading to motorcycles with higher capacities, there is always that crowd that wants motorcycles for local commuting and expects a good fuel economy. For them, the motorcycle manufacturers always amaze the consumers with mind-blowing motorcycles like the Bajaj V12 and TVS Victor. Let’s see how the Bajaj V12 and the TVS Victor square off against each other.
Recently Bajaj has silently launched the stripped down version of the same V15 motorcycle and this time named it V12. It looks incredibly a "Little War Hero" as the previously launched V15 and recently launched V12 are the two sides of the same coin. Let's find out what mettle the junior V15 is made of.
Platina Comfortec is an example of Bajaj’s continues quest of upgrading their existing products. However, at times the change brought by the company is pretty quick and not appreciated by the masses. Let's check it out how changes brought in new Platina Comfortec turned out to be.
