Tech Talk- MiClimate Personal Air Conditioner For Motorcyclists

Riding a motorcycle putting on full riding gear in scorching summer here in our subcontinent is a real time challenge. However, with the growing motorcycling trend it is good to see lots of responsible riders riding with full protection on despite of the terrible discomfort. No matter how perforated or ventilated riding gear may be when you ride under the sun during daytime in summer, the internal core temperature of the rider easily exceeds to the human limits.

There are lots of gadgets that have been invented and are in fact successfully used in the international market but in India we seldom get to see them. To the maximum what we could see to beat the heat is the use of Hydration Pack and as we all know it is a second line of action, it could save you from getting dehydrated but can’t do anything to stop you perspiring to the dangerous extent.

Miclimate, is the solution for every problem related to increasing core body temperature of the rider while riding in hot and humid conditions. It is the personal Air Conditioning technology perfectly fit for the outdoors. The MiClimate is a battery driven portable air conditioner which can be worn on the waist as a belt, the belt of the gadget is adjustable and can be fit to any size of rider. The core Unit of the Miclimate is equipped with portable Thermo-electric technology which can not only cool the hot air drawn from the climate but also heat it when switched to the hot mode. This way the Miclimate is useful for both kind of climates, you can use it to get cooled down in the summers and similarly it can be used as heater in cold climatic condition.

The core unit of the MiClimate is enwrapped in a rubber casing to provide extra protection from jerks and jolts. It is hung to its belt as holster, there are vents present at the bottom of the core unit, the ambient air is drawn from these vents to the core unit for conditioning. It is then the conditioned air passes through a flexible manifold to the belt. The belt of the MiClimate has flexible internal structure, through these structures the conditioned air directed towards the body of the rider creating a personal micro climate for the rider. The manufacturer of MiClimate claims that the gadget is capable of bringing down 10° C from the outside temperature. It is also capable to add 20° C to the ambient temperature when turned to hot setting. The Miclimate is driven from chargeable Lithium-ion Battery which can potentially last for four hours, it is then you may require recharging the battery. The battery can be charged through the USB port given on the unit or alternatively you can also run the MiClimate on your motorbike’s battery.

A remote Bluetooth device also comes with the gadget that can be mounted on the handlebar of the motorcycle so that one can adjust the temperature on the go. The Miclimate personal air conditioner for motorcyclists is available in the international market at a price tag of $ 269, we seriously aspire for such a useful product in our market and can hope this to be sold with the service backup here in India soon.
