Honda Livo The Honda Livo is a first model launched among the given competition; it was introduced last year by the company in the month of July. Honda had discontinued its erstwhile entry level bike- Twister to introduce better and updated Livo. The Honda Livo has been developed on a brand new platform by the company; the manufacturer has also implemented various features into their current entry level offering which was otherwise missing in the earlier generation model from the same segment.

Honda has also incorporated Honda Intelligent Ignition Control System (HIICS) in the Livo for better performance; the system senses the need of power and alters the ignition timing. The company claims fuel efficiency of 74 Kmpl with the help of HET. Look wise also the Honda Livo not only looks bigger than a 110cc bike (it appears as 125cc bike) but also it is featured with bigger tubeless tyres than any of its competition. The inclusion of tubeless tyres on bigger 18 inch alloy wheels adds premium to it.
For better stopping power the Livo comes equipped with optional 240mm front disc brakes and standard 130mm rear drum brake. Dimension wise also the Honda Livo stands taller than any of its competitors, with the help of bigger wheels the Livo has best in class 180mm of ground clearance. Rest of the dimensions of Honda Livo is almost same as its other counterparts.
TVS Victor (2016) Tvs has brought the brand ‘Victor’ in the market once again which used to be a star performer for the company. Although, it is the brand name only that has been brought back to the life, as the Victor 2016 is a brand new product from the house of TVS. Continuing the trend of using the brand name which had already performed for the company, TVS has introduced the Victor with a brand new 110cc air cooled engine with 3- Valve setup. The over square engine of the Victor is the most powerful and torquiest among all of its available competition.
The TVS Victor’s engine is capable of producing peak power of 9.6 PS@7500 rpm and peak torque of 9.4 Nm@6000 rpm. The comparatively high revving engine of Tvs Victor returns claimed mileage of 76 Kmpl. TVS has done a commendable job in fit and finish of the bike, the Victor looks absolutely stunning in almost all of its available color options. The paint quality and the overall work done on the detailing of the bike is noteworthy and one can testify this by taking the very first glance of it.
Big headlight and edgy lines everywhere catch your attention immediately, the Victor is the only that comes with dual digital cum analog meter console. Feature like digital display certainly adds further premium to the product. The TVS Victor also featured with optional front disc brake but the rear drum brake with 110mm is the smallest among all the competition. TVS has also introduced tubeless tyres as standard fitment to the Victor.
Yamaha Saluto RX Yamaha has also followed the suite and after discontinuing ‘Crux’ from their existing product lineup they have introduced Saluto RX. The Crux which has served the Japanese automaker as their entry level commuter bike for more than a decade, Yamaha has replaced it with their new 110cc offering which they have launched with the suffix ‘RX’ from their legendary 2-stroke model RX100. However, it seems pretty unfair and bizarre to associate a performance oriented legendary brand name with a 4-stroke commuter but Yamaha has somehow decided to do that.
Compare The Detailed Technical Specification Of Yamaha Saluto RX Vs TVS Victor
The Yamaha Saluto RX is based on brand new platform with claimed lightweight frame as well as engine. There are cast aluminum alloy wheels also contributing to the weight reducing regime of the Saluto RX. It is because of these parameters Yamaha succeeded in keeping the kerb weight of Saluto RX to 98 Kg. The lightweight long stroke engine of Saluto RX is mated to 4-speed transmission gear and it is capable to produce 8.5 Nm of torque at early 4500 Rpm.
However, keeping the overall weight of Saluto RX in control, Yamaha had to make way too many compromises. Although, they have not seemed to do any compromises on quality but dropping the features like tubeless tyres and optional disc brake is certainly not a good idea especially in a cut throat competition seen in the entry level commuter segment. But on the flip-side the lightweight and comparatively smaller looking 110cc Saluto RX is blessed with impressive fuel efficiency of 82 Kmpl. The power to weight ratio of Saluto RX plays a vital role experiencing early pick up, which surely makes the ride of Saluto RX a fun. Verdict & Price
Honda Livo
The big bike image of Honda Livo accompanied by its fresh styling will surely impress you, but you have to pay the extra price for that as the Honda Livo with all its bells and whistles are the most expensive motorcycle among the list. The Livo is available at a price point of Rs 55,489 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). However, added feature like digital instrument display would have been made the Livo a good bargain and to some extent it would have justified the price tag it holds.
TVS Victor 2016
TVS has done a great job by pitching a brand which had already done charisma for the company long time back, in fact TVS has raised the bar for rest of the competition as far as inclusion of features are concerned or overall quality of the package is concerned. At a price tag of Rs 51,490 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi) the Tvs Victor is a great value for money.
Yamaha Saluto RX
In a money conscious world like ours, every product has its buyers, I am sure Yamaha Saluto RX will also find its buyers but at a difference of few thousand rupees when the potential buyer has options available with lots of features which are actually becoming standard now a days, it will be interesting to see how Yamaha Saluto RX perform on the road to bridge the gap and take the lead. However, it will not be easy for Saluto RX to beat brand image of Honda and value for money proposition of TVS Victor. The Yamaha Saluto RX is priced at Rs 46,400 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
