Leading American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson added one more bike to its entry level list in the form of Street Rod 750, which was heavily based on the current outgoing Street 750. With two entry level motorcycles under Rs 6 lakhs category, Harley invites budget friendly motorcyclists into the HOG. We here compare and contrast the two motorcycles in terms of mechanical and aesthetical aspects.
Harley Davidson recently launched the new Street Rod 750 globally, while having India as primary market. The bike is mostly based on the outgoing Street 750. There are three colour options available, namely - Olive Gold, Charcoal Denim and Vivid Black. The bike is launched with a price tag of Rs. 5,86,000 (ex showroom Delhi). Below is a detailed overview of the all new Street Rod 750.
Today’s battle for motorcycles is very huge, especially when brands like Bajaj provides the riders motorcycles that are great value for money and brands like Royal Enfield assures great accessibility and riding comfort be it in the city or the highways.
For over 100 years, Harley ruled the market with top class bikes, for which people had to be on a waiting list to buy one in the 1990’s. Harley wanted to build a new type of motorcycle so they gave a shot for making a motorcycle that had both speed and styling. The project was code named P4. Harley put up a racing team with a bike named VR1000; the first liquid cooled Harley, where the others were air cooled.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 has certainly an edge over other competition; it is not only priced extremely competitive but also seems better value for money in all regards. Even if you consider it on the parameter of the now discontinued Pulsar NS200, the Dominar 400 being used the same platform ascertain its own success.
The Dominar is for the exceptions, for people who don’t fit into just one segment of the society. For people who aren’t affected easily by adverts and psychological segmentation of products. It is probably for the practical breed of people who don’t like too much speed but prefer a whiff of it for those short early morning rides or for quick sprints to the office, in formal clothing.
We had received the ABS variant for the test ride and the brakes proved to be phenomenal with amazing stopping power and absolutely nil lock nor any lack in response up even under very hard braking conditions. The Dominar 400 has been launched to setup a benchmark for Bajaj in the cruising segment and has surely dominated its rivals in almost any aspect.
One of the most awaited launches of the year has been made in the form of Bajaj Dominar 400. The new Dominar 400 is one of the most advanced pieces of machinery from the house of Bajaj, the brand Dominar is likely to receive same response as Pulsar series did, especially when it is launched at such a lucrative price tag. Let’s find out what’s all the Dominar 400 has to offer us.
If Kawasaki’s Versys- X300 and BMW’s G310 GS weren’t enough a choice to be happy with, well then Suzuki too has joined the small capacity adventure tourer segment, or let’s just say small capacity tourer segment. Next year, these motorcycles could literally create a row in the market but I think it would be a scenario of great excitement. It would be fun to observe and understand market dynamics as per what people choose from the three contenders, contenders of a niche motorcycle market just being born. I wish KTM India too had joined this bandwagon but they have, erm other priorities.
The ticking, clicking or knocking sound coming from the engine Head is referred as “Tappet Noise”. The Royal Enfield motorcycle owners can relate to this problem in a big way, the noisy tappets are something very common sight especially on old model Royal Enfield Bullets (Cast Iron Engine).
