As the lights went off for the German GP, Marquez got off to a good starts taking the holeshot into the sweeping right hander. Pedrosa followed Marquez as they both opened up a gap at the front. Meanwhile Jorge Lorenzo climbed up for a third position, only to drop down later on like a stone in water. Jonas Folger soon caught up places and found himself battling with Marquez for the rostrum. Movistar Yamaha boys Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales found it difficult at the start, but was up there to finish in the top 5.
At the back it was Valentino Rossi, Danilo Petrucci and Andrea Dovizioso hammering down for a P4 finish. Rossi soon got the better of both the riders, while Maverick started to hunt down way back from P10. Jonas Folger was all set and attacked Marc Marquez to lead the GP for the first time ever, only to go wide and give the lead back to number 93. Maverick Viñales then attacked Rossi and ended up for a P4. Rossi finished the tough race at P5, followed by Alvaro Bautista and Aleix Espargaro. Andrea Dovizioso ended up at P8, losing his lead in this years Championship standings. Johann Zarco and Cal Crutchlow finished in the top 10 of the list. Jorge Lorenzo ended up at P11 followed by Danilo Petrucci and Pol Espargaro.
At the end of the German GP, the grid now goes on Summer break. The next race is scheduled at Brno in Czech Republic on the 6th of August.
