Rossi and Marquez then had a close battle in the following laps, with Marquez overtaking at the Reverse Corkscrew for P1. Marquez soon started to show his Qualifying pace and pushed his Honda RC213V, to open up some gap at the front. Rossi was seen at P2, while Lorenzo and Viñales were at P3 and P4 respectively. Lorenzo then decided to have a battle with his teammate for P2, with almost 4 laps to go. He made up almost four tenths on a single lap in the process and passed Rossi successfully.
Before the penultimate lap Rossi tried to make a move on Jorge with the brakes, and ran off very wide to lose almost 3 seconds on that lap. The last two laps did not have much drama, as the top four stayed in the same positions. Marquez crossed the line with joy at P1, while the Yamaha duo Jorge and Rossi came home at P2 and P3 respectively. Suzuki's Maverick Viñales finished the race at P4, while Cal Crutchlow was the top Satellite rider at P5.

Ducatis Andrea Dovizioso didn't have the best expected result, and finished at P11.
