Yamaha Motor India has launched the much awaited YZF-R3 today in an event organised at Buddha International Circuit (BIC), Noida. The ace YZF-R3 is finally made home amidst the speculations of either R25 or R3 being launched by Yamaha. The new Yamaha YZF-R3 will be sold in India through CKD route and the parts will be imported from Indonesia.The all new Yamaha YZF R3 is equipped with 321cc parallel twin cylinder engine, which is capable of producing good 42 Ps of Power at 10750 Rpm and 29.6 Nm of peak Torque at 9000 Rpm. The powerful twin cylinder engine is mated to 6-speed gear transmission and there will not be any feature of "Slipper Clutch".
The R3 is also featured with single 298mm front disc brake and 220mm of rear disc brake, although, there is no "ABS" offered, not even as option. The new Yamaha YZF-R3 comes with "MRF" tubeless tyres which was a let down and considered as cost cutting measure taken up by Yamaha for Indian market.
The much touted quarter liter bike launch of the year is priced just right by the Yamaha as the YZF-R3 is being priced at Rs 3.25 Lacs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The R3 will be available in two colors only- Race Blue and Midnight Black.
