Yamaha has started giving training to the dealers for the upcoming sportsbike YZF R25. As per reliable sources Yamaha India is giving training to the service staff of their respective dealers at the prominent dealerships at major cities. Normally the training starts 3-4 months before the launch of a new product, this translates that Yamaha may launch the R25 early next year. The News may bring rejoice to the riders community but the launch of YZF R25 also means that there wont be R3 launch seen anytime soon. Its now almost confirm that Yamaha is going to bring R25 in India and the R3 might remain an exclusive machine for the developed countries as declared earlier on the launch of R3 in the countries like US and other European countries.
The Yamaha R25 is equipped with newly developed 250cc parallel twin cylinder engine, churning out 35 Bhp of power and 22 Nm of torque. The liquid cooled engine is also mated to a constant mesh 6-speed transmission gear. The R25 is a natural updation of its flagship product the YZF R15 and many Yamaha fans are eagerly waiting for it. The bike will be imported as CKD unit from Indonesia and will be assembled here in India, however a locally manufactured R25 might have been proved more cost effective but the chances of this happening seems remote.
The R25 coming via CKD route might cost just under Rs 3 lacs and will directly lock horns with Kawasaki Ninja 300 in its category.
