The two wheeler manufacturer is all set to launch the all-new YZF R15, which is expected to arrive in the country that expects it the most- India. The motorcycle can be expected somewhere around this year. Yamaha claims that the motorcycle is sportier, powerful and crowd gathering in its new get up. While the Indian market is awaiting the R15 V3, Yamaha Indonesia has already revealed the motorcycle.
The R15 V3 gets a dual tone color scheme, LED headlamp and the slipper clutch that helps to prevent wheel lock ups under aggressive downshifts. The R15 V3 is fed with the 155cc single cylinder, four stroke engine which is 6cc more than the current model. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine is told to churn out a maximum power between 18bhp to 20bhp.
The current model runs under a 149cc single cylinder, four stroke engine that produces 17bhp at 8,500RPM and 15Nm torque at 7,500RPM. The outgoing model returns a fuel economy of 40-42kmpl and a top speed of 135-140kmph. We can expect the new R15 V3, to increase these figures.
The new R15 is claimed to draw the ergonomics from its older siblings the R6 and R125. The front end looks sharper and looks like the headlamp will be equipped with the projector lights to offer more visibility and a premium feel. Being a proud owner of the R15 V2, let us see how the new R15 will compete against its rivals- Honda CBR 150R, upcoming Suzuki GX150R and also the Bajaj RS200.
