It is worth mentioning that Yamaha has recently phased out the erstwhile entry level model- Crux from their fleet. It was expected that Yamaha would introduce a new entrant in the vacant entry level commuter segment, the segment which holds a lot of importance to the Japanese giant in India.
At the launch event Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said-
India is the largest two wheeler market in the world with nearly 16 million units sold last year and is a strategically important market for Yamaha. Known globally for the passion to put all of their engineering skills to develop models with notable results, Yamaha has always believed in offering custom made products by taking into account roads and traffic conditions. Being committed towards India, the launch of the unique 110 cc bike is a clear illustration of Yamaha’s endeavor to cater to the aspirations of young India. Yamaha is very excited to launch this bike and is confident this will be very well received by the target group.
The overall weight control in the new Saluto RX has resulted into great mileage figures. The new bike looks strikingly similar to its elder sibling- Saluto 125 but can be distinguished by its 10 spokes alloy wheels. The new Saluto RX is launched in four colors- Matte Black, Breezy Blue, Inspiring Red, and Gleaming Black. Yamaha has priced the new commuter at Rs 46,400 (Ex- Showroom, Delhi).
