Engine and features
Aerox uses the same fuel-injected 155cc, liqiud cooled, VVA, single cylinder engine which is used on R15 V4. This engine produces 14.8 bhp @8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.9 Nm @6,500 rpm in this scooter. The transmission duties are carried out through V-belt, CVT drivetrain. It gets a mild-hybrid system,which can automatically stop-start engine. The engine gets turned-off when the scooter comes at complete halt which will save some fuel in this crucial time. The scooter has a kerb weight of 126 kg, which will provide it with a nice power to weight ratio. The fuel tank capacity is 5.5 litres and ground clearance is 145 mm. The under-seat storage is 24.5 litres and the seat height is 790mm. Aerox has 14-inch alloys at both ends, front with a 230 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum brake. The front gets a telescopic fork while the rear has twin shock absorbers. Single-channel ABS comes as standard.
Aerox gets full LED setup; from twin LED headlamps at front to tail-lights everything is LED. It has a negative LCD instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity and Yamaha Y-connect, this helps the owners to track its last parking location, fuel consumption stats, service schedules, relay maintenance and malfunction notifications as well. Aerox 155 has an external fuel lid, a side-stand engine cut-off feature, phone charger comes as optional.
Colours and price
Aerox comes in two dual tone colours of blue-silver and white-black which is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Limited edition Aerox Monster Energy MotoGP version charges 1000 bucks extra; it comes at a price of Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
