TVS Motors has recently surpassed Bajaj Auto in domestic sales and become second in country after Hero MotoCorp. Now TVS wants to keep this momentum going on and announced that they will launch a new product every quarter from upcoming quarter to the next financial year. This clearly states that atleast two products will be launched from the arsenal of TVS within six months from now.
As we all know that TVS Motors are already working on at least three different platforms, the new "TVS Scooty Zest" is already got late not less then 6 months, the second most ambitious project of TVS is the updated Apache RTR 250 based on its prototype "Draken" showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Show. However the upfront and the most important project for TVS Motors is the development of new range of motorcycles in 500cc class with the help of its now global partner the BMW Motorrads. Now as we all are aware that the 500cc motorcycle with the alliance of BMW will take time to touch the tarmac, it is not seeing coming before the mid or the end of next year and the launch of Scooty Zest is due for long time and we can receive the new scooter from TVS any time. So if TVS launches the new Scooty Zest in couple of months from now it is only the Apache RTR 250 left to be launched as the second launch which would happen latest by the end of this year or first quarter of next month.
The new Apache RTR 250 is speculated to be featured with single cylinder 250cc liquid cooled engine bearing 4- valves. The bike is also expected to deliver 30Ps of power at 9000 Rpms. The new Apache RTR 250 is also likely to have light weight trellis frame chassis mated with monoshock suspension at the rear. If we believe that the new Apache RTR 250 will be based on Draken then it would essentially be the naked bike and TVS might save the magic of Faired bike for the 500cc TVS-BMW alliance.
