EBR formally known as Erik Buell Racing, which is now half owned by our own Hero MotoCorp has won points for the first time ever in the prestigious World Superbike Championship (WSKB) held at the only US round at Laguna Seca in Salinas, California. With this the Team Hero EBR with its EBR 1190RX has become first ever US company earned points in WSKB points tally. The Europeans and the Japanese remain dominant throughout the race.
The founder of EBR "Erik Buell" said that this was very valuable weekend for them, as they not only earned some points but also been able to understand the limits and the capabilities of their EBR 1190RX.
Hero MotoCorp has 49.2% stake in Erik Buell Racing (EBR), they are not only participating in the racing events of the team EBR but also taking the advantage of EBR's experience, racing heritage and design expertise as well. The recent launch of 2014 Karizma ZMR and Karizma R is a classic example of Hero MotoCorp taking inspiration from EBR's design philosophy. However its a matter of debate that how successful was Hero to execute the transformation of the same idea.
Hastur was the prototype showcased by Hero Motocorp at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo has created a fair amount of excitement in the India automobile industry. The model is very promising and Hero is developing it with the help of EBR, it is also claimed that the bike will be sporting 620cc twin cylinder engine churning out whopping 80Ps of power at 9600 Rpms. The country is waiting eagerly for this naked monster to be launched soon.
