Bajaj has left no stone unturned while testing its faired successor of its very own and old Pulsar range. Starting from Lavasa to Leh, Bajaj reached testing the bike in Columbia and then probably ending showcasing it there itself in a corporate function. We exactly do not know where this event takes place but Bajaj has displayed its Pulsar 200SS in a full swing. This is probably first time we are watching the uncensored and san camouflaged pictures of the bike, indicating the launch is any time soon in India.
Bajaj always walked up a step ahead every time with their Pulsar models by taking up the design cues from some really big bikes. Pulsar 200NS was derived from Honda CB1000 and these faired versions took their clothes from Energica Ego.
The bike will be piloted via the same single cylinder engine as that of the NS, churning out 23.52 PS of max. power and 18.3 NM of max. torque. Gone are the days of that underbelly exhaust muffler, it now houses the full muffler. What I hate the most from the pics are those really upright and awkward looking handlebars. I’m confused what sort of category they lie in, clip-on, upright or is it something new like the design? The rear view mirrors looks practical. The rear pillion seat is changed and pictures state that now it is much more practical in comparison to NS. The clocks are a direct lift-up from the Pulsar 200NS.
Now how does the bike rides with that extra weight and mass. Has Bajaj made any change in the gearbox? Does the fairing and windshield really helps out, will it be able to outrun a KTM RC200 on track? It can be stated only after we get our hands on it for first ride review as soon as it is launched in India.
