"Economic Times" TVS top boss has admitted that they are not only going to bring a commuter bike from their "Pheonix" series in next six months but also going to launch New Apache around March -April 2015. As we have already mentioned the likelihood of TVS launching Apache 250 in our report, this statement of K N Radhakrishnan, President and Chief Executive, TVS Motor India has almost confirms the same. He said:
TVS Motor already has Apache 160 RTR and Apache 180 RTR in its stable but unconfirmed source has said that they are working on a quarter liter bike to tap the flourishing 250cc segment. As it is there is tremendous pressure from the millions of TVS Fan followings to upgrade the Apache series. It has been almost ten years since TVS had launched Apache 150 in year 2005 and since then it is stuck to the 180 RTR and there is no further advancement seen.
After the pact signed between TVS and global giant BMW last year there is extreme hope and aspirations from the Duo and as it was made clear in the pact that both TVS and BMW will have long term partnership for manufacturing Sub 500cc motorcycles only and those bikes will be manufactured at TVS premises in India where BMW will share the manufacturing unit of TVS to produce sub 500cc bikes by its brand name and will later on sell them through there local and global sales network, whereas TVS will get benefited with the technology of BMW shared to produce its sub 500cc bikes by its brand name. This way both of them will get benefited and this agreement will be a win win situation for both.
Now it is to be seen whether TVS is going to bring the new Apache under the same agreement and manufacture the bike with the BMW technology or they will produce the new Apache with its indigenous technology. This only time will tell.
