Harley-Davidson launches Harley-Buyback offer- The American giant is trying very hard to convince people to buy their Soft-tail range. Which is why they offered a full price deduction equivalent to the ex-showroom price of a Street-rod/Street 750, if it was 1 year old and if you were planning on purchasing a Softail Harley. Currently, this series has, a total of 6 bikes in India, including Street Bob, Low-Rider, Fat Bob, Fat boy, Deluxe and Heritage Classic. The full ex-showroom price of the street rod and street 750 will be discounted, if the bike is 1 year old and & 75% if the bike is 2 years old.
Benelli Motobi 200 launched in Indonesia- An entry-level cruiser by the name of Benelli Motobi was launched in Indonesia, at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS for short. The bike resembles Honda rebel, but not in terms of performance and parts, as it features an air-cooled motor which only makes 13.9 Nm of torque. For a 200 cc bike claiming to be a cruiser, this figure couldn’t get more disappointing. It will not launch in India at least until 2020 because the company has already announced that they will first focus on the middleweight, before sliding down to 200 ccs.
Hero MotoCorp Introduces Hero Sure- The big corporate giant, the Hero, is planning on increasing its customer base even more through Hero Sure initiative. It will allow people to buy and sell their used vehicles at an appropriate price. Hero ensures that through their inspection, only the best-justified value of your product will emerge. Hero sure is currently available in Gujrat and Tamil Nadu but it will expand to other states soon.
Harley Davidson FXDR 114 and 2019 CVO model launched- HD launched a full-blown power cruiser to challenge the likes of Ducati Diavel. The FXDR 114 is powered by a 114 cubic inch Milwaukee-8 motor which makes around 90 HP and 161 Nm of torque. The bike has a really big rear tyre, matched only by a Suzuki Intruder M1800R. The company defines this new product as a cruiser which can tackle straights as well as corners. Other motorcycles of this kind include the Ducati Diavel, Yamaha V-Max and Arch Motorcycle’s KRGT-1.
The company also announced a new CVO or Custom Vehicle Operations model for 2019. Harley has customised the Street Glide and Road Glide to include them in the CVO family range. Currently, only the CVO Limited is available in India.
TVS Radeon launched- To tackle the might of Hero Splendor, TVS launched Radeon, a 110 cc small commuter bike which makes around 8.2 PS of power and 8.7 Nm of torque. It also had a dura life engine, which is literally maintenance free, the company claims, and a host of other features like LED DRL, Sync brake technology, Unique Impact Resistance (UIR) Design and a USB charging point. The bike is priced at Rs 48,000 ex-showroom.
2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2 launched in India- The untamable beast which was the H2 became even wilder in its 2019 update. The bike now makes around 227 BHP and also gets a self-healing paint. The paint will heal itself of small scratches but not the ones caused by keys, coins, or zippers. The paint has 2 layers, a slippery layer and a bouncy layer, which work together to prevent and heal the scratches. This new model of the Ninja H2 costs around Rs 34.5 lakh ex-showroom.
Ntorq beats Grazia and Aventura opens their first dealership-
TVS sold 18,728 units of Ntorq while Honda sold 17,147 units of Grazia, in the month of July. It’s a good thing that people are buying these scooters as it will encourage companies to launch more performance oriented products.
Avantura, the custom bike builder which made their headlines due to the massive 2,000 cc V-twin engines, which they use in their choppers, opened their first showroom at the Driven cafe, Residency Road, Banglore. They will sell two choppers which goes by the name of Rudra (Rs 23.9 lakh ex-showroom) and Pravega (Rs 21.4 lakh ex-showroom)
