Yamaha FZ-1.
Yamaha India has phased out the liter class naked FZ-1 and it seems but obvious after the recent launch of the new naked MT-09. However, the major dropout regime emerges soon after the launch of MT-09 which happened at the recently concluded Auto Expo’16 at Delhi, it is speculated that Yamaha has done this to make way for the upcoming products.
Yamaha leaving only the old FZ-16 has slashed, old Fazer and FZ-S. The decision of dropping the older versions of Fazer and FZ-S seems logical after Yamaha had launched the updated Version 2 of the Fazer and FZs with all new 149cc Fuel Injected engine. Although, there will be the older model of FZ-16 being available for sale for those who are interested in the older bigger capacity carburated engine.
Yamaha has also discontinued the only offering from the 100cc class- Crux. After the long time of its service finally the cheapest entry level Yamaha motorcycle, the Crux is also discontinued. The bike was famous for its sturdiness and durability especially among the rural markets of the country is no longer continued. Now after the dropout of the Crux the Saluto has become the cheapest offering from the Yamaha stable and it belongs to the 125cc class. We never know that Yamaha might bring something new to cater the now vacant 100cc spot in their product lineup.
In the scooter segment also Yamaha has discontinued the “Ray” and has continued the funkier “Ray-Z”. After discontinuing the Ray now Yamaha has got only three products in their auto scooter portfolio- the Fascino, Ray-Z and Alpha.
