India is home to 14 out of 20, most polluted cities in the world. With places like Kanpur and Varanasi, having occupying the topmost position and National Capital Delhi along with Muzaffarpur and Patna coming in a bit low. The fact that all the 14 Cities on this list are Indian, it can also be postulated that India is contributing to World pollution more than ever.
The timing of the meeting is also not in the favour of the Indian Government because the Farmers in Punjab and Haryana will be burning Crop remains at the same time when Indian officials will be attending an environment protection meeting. The Irony cannot be stronger than this.
In an effort to curb the pollution several states and central Government resort to Sprinkling water over around cities to settle dust particles, but it only gives the people a day or two of breathing relief. As of now, there are no major solid plans set up by any Government, in place to combat the dangerous pollution levels.
The ever growing pollution has also forced the authorities to implement BS6 norms until 2020, as a result of several Indian Two-wheeler manufacturers like Bajaj, are readying themselves to use it in their 2019 line up. There is no official update or leak from other manufacturers but expect all of them to come out with a BS6 model around December of 2019.
Air Pollution is a reality which is set to become a fatal epidemic if the current course of action continues. A number of breathing disorders, lung infections that reduces life-span and causes Cancer are just some of the atrocious diseases in a long list of damages, the Polluted Air can cause.
