Honda adds another cracking launch expected later next financial year i.e early 2016. This time it is the would be flagship model of Honda in country- Honda CBR 650F. According to a report published in autocarpro.in Mr. YS Guleria, vice-president, sales & marketing, HMSI confirmed the launch of CBR 650F.
Honda had showcased the CBR650F in 2014 Auto Expo, the bike has inline-4 cylinder 649cc liquid cooled engine which is capable of producing 87Ps of Power at 11000 Rpm. The CBR650F would be the cheapest inline-4 motorcycle available in India, as per the report Honda will import the bike as CKD units and then they will locally assemble them in one of their plants in India, however it is not disclosed yet which plant will Honda be using for assembling these beauties.
Honda CBR650F is a sportbike which can be utilized as tourer due to its more relaxed seating position. In our country only Kawasaki Ninja Z800 is available with inline-4 cylinder to give competition to CBR650F in its category, that too Z800 is priced at Rs 8.03 Lacs(Ex showroom, Delhi) and Honda CBR650F is expected to be launched between Rs 5.5 and Rs 6.0 Lacs. The sole pricing of CBR650F will be enough to kill all potential competition present in the market, in a Faired bike loving country like ours the Z800 kind of potent motorcycles with Roadster styling will have to run for their money at the price it is being sold today.
In an article "Honda CBR 650F An Overview" we had already discussed the capabilities and the prospects of CBR650F. If Honda would make the CBR650F available between Rs 5.5 and 6.0 Lacs in India there is no doubt it would become one of the most sort after bikes of the country. Although Honda has confirmed the launch through CKD route, we would still hope for the made in India CBR650F on fine day.
