Hero MotoCorp drool away almost everyone with their product portfolio they showed at the Indian Auto Expo 2014. They had shown a significantly long but great range of products starting from 100cc motorcycles, gear-less scooters to 250cc full-faired sportbikes. Some out of them have already launched, while some are under the pipeline. The latest launch from their side is the Splendor based Café-Racer, the Splendor Pro Classic. Hero Motocorp has launched the Splendor Pro Classic at a price tag of Rs 53900(Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The bike we have seen anywhere is at Auto Expo only. The Splendor Pro Classic is second home-grown Café-Racer we have in India after the RE Continental GT. The motorcycle is same on the specification sheet as the Splendor Plus, the engine is same 97.2cc and generates 7.5 Ps and 8 Nm of torque. while there are some modifications to the bike, that lends the iconic look of a Cafe' Racer to it. The bike is the cheapest and most frugal Café-Racer throughout the World. While what we are confused over is, how much back pain would there be riding it, as Hero MotoCorp has not moved the foot-pegs backwards. The handlebar is single-piece Club Man unit and not the Clip-ons but are specifically designed for the Pro Classic and it gives the feel of clip-ons. The rear end is the most modded and changed portion of the bike, this includes rear fender and tail section. There’s a single seat with a cowl to provide you an extremity of the seat.
The bike is targeted to the youth, who have a daily commute of 15-20kms and want a true zero-maintenance, good-looking head turner motorcycle with minimum fuel bill and aggressive riding stance.
