The helmet will make it compulsory for the rider to wear it, as the bike will not start if the rider is not putting on the helmet. There will be sensors placed in the helmet which will not only make it mandatory for the rider to put it on but also monitor the alcohol level from the breath of the rider. If the alcohol level is more than the permissible limit then the bike will not start and hence prevent the rider to ride the vehicle.

The uniqueness of the solution being that a particular two-wheeler can only be switched on with a particular helmet and without which the two-wheeler cannot be started thus making it safe from theft also.
The smart helmet will also be very helpful in case of any emergency like accident; the helmet will send the location of the victim to the ambulance and family members. Team explained that this will be enabled through a cloud server which will process the data first and provide immediate medical help to the victim.
This instigates a feeling of protection in parents' minds about their children travelling on roads.they said.
The project of smart helmet is among the three winning projects of the second edition of Ericsson Innovation Awards India. And it is also supported by the Ericsson India financially. However, the idea of smart helmet is indeed unique and holds great cause but it is to be seen that how many will actually be ready to use it once it comes on the shelf. Anyway it is a great idea and those who are responsible riders will certainly like it for its traits like compulsion to start the engine and utility in case of emergency.
