Today, a reader of BikesIndia Chetan Dewkar captured the Bajaj Pulsar 200AS being tested on the Mumbai-Pune Highway, alongside the other two evolution of the Pulsar family- The SS and the 150NS. These are the clear most spy-shots one can find of the new Adventure Sport motorcycle, being tested here in India. It is speculated that the 200 AS will sport the same engine and chassis as the 200NS, but sports a half-fairing like the ones on the discover 150F and the 220F. The 200NS has a 200cc, SOHC 4 valve triple spark and liquid cooled engine which gives out a peak power of 23.5 Ps at 9000 RPM. The Pulsar 200 AS is wrapped in a stable and stiff perimeter frame of Pulsar 200NS.
The NS’s smooth engine and stable chassis made it an ideal touring machine, but with an aftermarket visor. Will the upcoming AS quench the tourer’s thirst of an affordable, easy to maintain and value for money tourer? Only time will tell that.
