The much subdued launch of this commuter bike from Bajaj stable is one of the first launches out of the upcoming six launches as promised by Bajaj. The new Platina has got design uplifts like body color front headlight cowl, new graphics, redesigned rear & side panels and new Scratch resistant & Fade free superior paint finish. The bike comes with longest in class seat, new body colored grab rails and all new engine with graphite tint. The rear has got the signature SNS suspension, where as upfront the telescopic shock absorbers does the duty. The bike is also featured with all black alloy wheels and this time it has got 3 inches meaty rear tyre.
The new Platina 100 ES is featured with 102cc Dtsi engine which is tuned to produce 8.2 Ps of power and 8.62 Nm of torque, though there seems to be a misprinting in the tech spec sheet at Bajaj website as the conversion of .88 Kgm comes 8.62 Nm, whereas there it is written 12.75 Nm. What catches the attention is the ARAI mileage figure of new Platina, it is 96.9 Kmpl (under test conditions). It is expected to return 70+ overall mileage in actual riding conditions.
The bike comes in three color options: Ebony Black, Electron Blue and Candy Red. The Platina 100 ES comes with Electric Start(ES) as standard feature and it is available at a price tag of Rs 44,507 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
