The bike was launched with a price tag of Rs 1.36 lakh in 2016. After almost two years, the same version is Rs. 13,000 more expensive. While also taking into account that there hasn’t been any significant or major change in the bike since its launch. It already had a BS4 engine at the time of launch so it continued to sell, just as it was, even after April 2017.
Besides Dominar 400, Bajaj has also raised the price of its Pulsar series. The price of Pulsar NS 200 has been increased several times in the past few months. As a result, its current ex-showroom price is Rs. 1.03 lakh for Non-ABS version and Rs. 1.12 lakh for ABS version.
A new model of Dominar 400 has already been leaked over the internet. So it seems like the company is trying to gain as much profit from it as possible. However, we believe that the company is not going to scrap the current Dominar 400 model and launch the new one as another variant.
Not just the Bajaj bikes but all motorcycles are bound to get more expensive before 2019. The BS6 norms are expected to come into place in the same year and manufacturers have been strictly instructed to follow the same. An estimated 10 to 12% increase in price is expected.
