As seen from the spy pics a couple of weeks ago, the Dominar has the same design and theme but features some mechanical updates in the form of Upside down forks and a twin-port exhaust. Besides these obvious visible changes, a bigger radiator and some new body panels are also included in the new update. The current spy pics reveal almost nothing extra because it is very blurry but we can expect all the above-mentioned changes to be in the 2019 Model.
It is however not clear if this is the same Dominar 400 or a Scambler version of the bike because reports were coming in at the start of this month of a Scrambler Dominar 400 in early 2019. Considering the popularity of Dominar 400 and its current position in the market, it is highly unlikely that Bajaj will compromise its position by introducing a new and expensive model.
The model shown in the pic will be a different model that will start spawning the Dominar series as a multi-motorcycle sub-brand like the Pulsar series. Most probably it will be a scrambler model with dual purpose tyres and some off-road focused equipment.
Regarding the changes in the performance, there won’t be any. The engine will be a BS-6 variant but it actually risks reducing performance because of strict emission norms. So expect the final power at the rear wheel to take a dip. Also due to the additional catalytic converters, the weight of the bike may also see an increase.
Besides Bajaj KTM is also planning their Duke 390 adventure in 2019, so expect a slew of launches from both of them. Besides the Dominar 400.
