Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) launched a new product, and yet again it is a scooter. The 125cc scooter is named as Grazia and is based on the platform of Activa 125. The Grazia is a modern Urban scooter and Honda considers this as the next big step in the scooter segment with innovation and advancement. The premium scooter comes with a tag line 'The World in a new light" referring to its first in class LED headlights. Here's a quick overview of the newly launched scooter.
Looks and Design: On the very first look, the design of the Grazia is a spot on Honda. It takes heavy design cues from the latest Honda Dio along with a new rear end design. The headlight assembly is located just like the Dio, and the Grazia gets full LED lights which is a first in its class. The turn indicators are also integrated with the headlight unit. The sides and rear panels remind of the Activa 3G, which is sleek and upraised. The rear end is similar to the Dio, as it has a large tail light unit with integrated turn indicators (the rear unit remain to be normal bulbs). There are a pair of grab rails at the rear which looks sporty as well The Grazia looks like a more premium scooter when compared with the Activa and Dio.
Engine and Performance: The Honda Grazia has exactly the same engine as the Activa 125 which is a 124.9cc air cooled motor, and produces 8.52 bhp at 6,500 RPM and 10.54 Nm of torque at 5,000 RPM. The transmission is again a similar CVT automatic unit, and the engine has Honda's patented Eco technology that reduces internal friction. Top speed could be anywhere near 100 kmph.
Brakes, Suspension and Equipment: The Honda Grazia comes with telescopic suspension at the front and conventional single spring suspension at the rear. The scooter gets drum brakes at both ends with Combi brake system (CBS), yet there is an option for a front disc brake. There is a new 4 in 1 lock with a dedicated seat opener and to open the small storage box, apart from powering the scooter and locking the key entry. The meter console unit is completely digital which also has a Techometer, along with a three step Eco Speed indicator to calculate and show realistic fuel economy information. Price and Mileage:
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) are selling scooters like hot cakes, and the Grazia can't get an exemption.
